Koya

Koya was one of six puppies in her litter around the corner from Rabab's house. She was hit by a car when she was about 4 1/2 months, and fractured her leg in two places. One day she was left unattended on an examination table, and fell fracturing the same leg in a third place.

Her bone pinning surgery was unsuccessful in Noida, and was brought to Delhi for corrective treatment. After several months of cage rest, medication, continuous flushing of wound, and dedicated nursing, she became infection free, started putting pressure on her fourth leg and started to walk and then finally run! Now she is one of the swiftest runners and stays in a Greater Noida boarding with nine other rescued dogs of Rabab, two of which are from the same litter.

Goldie's Story

Goldie is a street dog who lived outside Rabab's house, and one day when firecrackers went off frantically, she ran through a gap in the divider and got hit by a speeding car on the other side. She was unable to move her hind legs and had sustained a deep puncture wound in her neck as well. Rabab brought her home. She put a mattress down on the floor next to Goldie, slept next to her, and nursed her for a total of five months. Gradually, her neck wound healed, and she would take her to Delhi twice a week for laser treatment in her lower limbs and spine. Lo and behold, after three months of dedicated treatment, she was finally able to squat and pee on her own! Now she runs free, jumping up on her bed, and joyfully greeting Rabab when she visits her in the boarding! There was amazing recovery with laser treatment being done in time.

Chulbul's Story

Chulbul came and settled around the corner from Rabab's house in 2022. In early September of the following year, an uncontrolled and rash driver drove over his tail and hip fracturing both. A nerve was also damaged where Chulbul is still not able to empty his bladder completely which is done manually. The vets didn't have much hope, but after seven weeks, finally, one day he put his fourth leg down, and slowly put weight on it and started to walk! Chulbul's bones actually fused in tail and hip, and he can now run faster than Rabab! She had continued giving homeopathic treatment for bone growth and fusion, and had deep faith that they would work, and they did!! He continues to live with them as a family member.

Chumki's Story

Chumki wandered into a taxistand close to Rabab's house in 2021. No one knew where she came from and why, and since the staff at the stand was friendly, food was available as an evening meal, she gradually made it her home. Some nine months later, she gave a litter of five puppies, all of whom were nearly stolen one cold night, so were duly shifted to a friend's house. It was after subsequent trips to the vet that Rabab realized that Chumki was grossly deficient in calcium, and unable to pass urine for more than twenty-four hours because of stubborn UTI! Chumki underwent rigorous treatment for all her health issues after being brought to Rabab's home where she lives today as a family member. Rabab says that when she pets Chumki, she feels like she is honestly stroking a human.
